Porf. Diao Visited the Top Universities of AmericaViews [2813] Delivery time :2013-10-30 18:18:38

        During April 28^th  to May 11^th,  2013, Prof. Dongfeng Diao, director of INSE, has visited five famous  universities across west to east of America and giving five academic  presentations. He visited Prof. Frank E. Talke in University of California at  San Diego (UCSD) (on joint-trained PhD candidate Lei Yang), Prof. K. Komvopolos  in University of California at Berkeley (UCB) (on key scientific and  technological questions on the topic of developing extreme-thin nano carbon  films), Prof. Bharat Bhushan in Ohio State University (OSU) (on subject  construction, regular academic visiting, and joint-training PhD project), Prof.  Xiaodong Li in South Carolina University (SCU) (on future plan for publishing  papers on scientific journals such as Nano Letters and Advanced Matersialts),  Prof. Jiaxing Huang in Northwest University (NU) (on co-research plans about  graphene-based material applications). He also participated in the  41^th  International Conference on Metallurgical Coatings and Thin Films, which was  held at San Diego. He gave three speeches titled “The effects of electron  irradiation conditions on the formation of embedded graphene sheets during  carbon film deposition in ECR plasma”, “Super Smooth Nano-Structured Carbon  Films with Cross-linked Graphitic Sheets Induced by ECR Ion Irradiation”,  ”Effect of ECR Carbon Film on Demagnetization Behavior of the Magnetic Recording  Disk Under Sliding Contact”, and played a positive role in building an  international research platform for nanosurface science and engineering as well  as exploring the horizontal in researching area.
